This Christmas Cardo, the parent company of Normstahl, responds to a serious challenge. Globally, around 33 million people are infected with AIDS. Southern Africa accounts for almost a third of all AIDS-related deaths globally. In this region alone, the epidemic has made 12 million children orphans.

Cardo makes a donation to Star for Life, instead of buying Christmas gifts to customers and employees.

Star for life´s approach targets both to health aspects and the socioeconomic aspects of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. By working together with the schools and communities, Star for Life reaches out and targets students with its HIV/AIDS/STD teaching programs. These programs are fully integrated with the existing teaching subject called Life Orientation or Life Skills, depending on the country. During regular school hours, the Star for Life program is given on HIV and AIDS. Star for Life works in both in rural and urban areas of South Africa and Namibia.
